Are you a Registered Nurse with advanced clinical expertise and a passion for consumer-centred care?
Princess Alexandra
Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) / Consumer Liaison Advisor (CLA) to provide specialist clinical leadership and consultancy in the field of compliments, complaints and consumer feedback. Working within the Patient Safety and Quality Unit, you will support safe, high-quality healthcare through advanced nursing practice, clinical education, quality improvement and collaborative leadership.
In This Role, You Will
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert consultancy in Consumer Liaison Services, supporting safe and quality patient care.
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care as required, applying person-centred care approaches that address patients' psychological, social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
- Provide expert clinical advice to patients, carers, nurses and multidisciplinary stakeholders regarding consumer feedback and Consumer Liaison practice.
- Apply advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical judgement and problem-solving skills to support contemporary nursing practice.
About You We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse who can bring advanced clinical knowledge, professional leadership and a commitment to person-centred care. You will have the ability to provide specialist advice in Consumer Liaison, collaborate with diverse stakeholders and support the delivery of secure, quality nursing practice.
You Will Demonstrate
- Advanced knowledge, skills and competence in Consumer Liaison and person-centred nursing practice, with the ability to provide expert clinical advice and support patient care.
- Demonstrated understanding of consumer feedback, complaints management, Health Ombudsman processes and relevant clinical governance and safety standards.
- Ability to provide operational leadership, support multidisciplinary decision-making and promote best-practice clinical outcomes.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organisational skills to build effective relationships with patients, carers, staff and stakeholders.
- Advanced critical thinking, clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to manage complex clinical and consumer-related matters.

About Us The Patient Liaison Office (PLO) is a subunit of the Patient Safety and Quality Unit and provides a responsive, high-quality complaint and compliment management service across the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH). The PLO aims to support consumers and staff in managing patient feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
