About the Role The Contract Administrator plays a key role in the commercial and contract administration of our projects from procurement through to completion.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with project and site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial activities are accurately managed, project costs and commitments are controlled, and contracts are administered in line with agreed terms and governance requirements.
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, contribute to commercial outcomes and build strong relationships across the project lifecycle in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, issue and administer subcontract and supply chain agreements, ensuring scopes, terms and documentation are complete and compliant.
- Manage commercial events including variations, instructions, cost changes, claims and forecasts, ensuring information is captured accurately and in real time.
- Prepare and coordinate tender packages, manage tender queries and submissions, and assist with tender evaluations and negotiations.
- Prepare tender comparisons, identifying risks,
exclusions, qualifications and scope gaps to support sound commercial decisions.
- Maintain accurate project budgets, commitments, forecasts and cost data.
- Support monthly project cost and financial reporting, ensuring project activity is accurately reflected in financial reporting.
- Assess subcontractor variations, claims and progress claims in accordance with contractual requirements and relevant legislation.
- Prepare compliant payment schedules and maintain accurate records of claims, approvals and payments.
- Maintain variation registers, contract documentation and audit-ready records.
- Ensure commercial procedures, governance requirements and workflow approvals are followed, identifying and escalating any areas of risk or non-compliance.
- Provide commercial and contract administration support to project and site teams and assist with resolving subcontractor and commercial issues.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure commercial matters are progressed efficiently and in line with project requirements.
About you
- 3–7 years’ progressive experience in contract administration, commercial construction or a related environment.
- Experience in commercial or residential construction and/or development is preferred.
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement, cost management and commercial processes.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to independently manage your workflow, prioritise tasks and take initiative.
- A proactive approach and the ability to identify issues, manage risk and escalate matters when required.
- Strong systems and process capability, with experience using ProcurePro, Plexa or similar commercial software platforms highly regarded.
- The flexibility to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing setting.
- A current Construction Industry OHS White Card.
