We are seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist to join our External Affairs team and help deliver high-quality corporate communications, media and content initiatives that inform, engage and advocate on behalf of Queensland's business community.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Media, this opportunity will see you play a key role in shaping and sharing the stories, insights and advocacy priorities of Business Chamber Queensland through compelling communications that inform, engage and advocate on behalf of Queensland businesses across a range of internal and external channels.

From drafting media releases and member success stories to creating thought leadership content, social media content, newsletters, speeches and articles, you will play an important role in communicating the impact of our work and the issues that matter most to Queensland businesses.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will contribute to the delivery of communications strategies, media activities and stakeholder engagement initiatives, ensuring our audiences receive timely, accurate and engaging content.

Key responsibilities

- Develop, write and edit high-quality corporate communications content across digital, print and social channels.
- Produce engaging content including blogs, newsletters, media releases, speeches, opinion pieces, member stories and executive communications.
- Create and publish social media content that supports advocacy campaigns, events, business insights and organisational priorities.
- Identify and develop storytelling opportunities that showcase member successes, industry trends and the impact of Business Chamber Queensland's work.
- Assist in the implementation of communications strategies and campaigns that strengthen stakeholder engagement and organisational reputation.
- Maintain consistent messaging, tone and quality across all communications outputs.
- Support senior leaders with content development, briefing materials and speech writing as required.

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline.
- Five plus years’ experience in a communications, media,



public relations or content-focused role.
- Strong writing, editing, interviewing and storytelling skills across a range of formats and audiences.
- Demonstrated experience creating content for newsletters, websites, social media, media releases and corporate communications channels.
- Experience managing multiple content projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
- Experience working with or in the Queensland and national media landscape
