ANZUK Education is delighted to invite applications for the position of VCE Vocational Major (VM) Coordinator at Al-Taqwa College, one of Victoria's leading independent Islamic schools.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and passionate educational leader to lead the College's VCE Vocational Major program, supporting students to engage in meaningful applied learning pathways that lead to further education, training and employment. Commencing in 2027 (or by negotiation), the VCE VM Coordinator will provide strategic and operational leadership across curriculum, pathways and workplace learning, ensuring students receive a high-quality, engaging and compliant vocational education experience.

The Role The VCE Vocational Major Coordinator provides strategic and operational leadership of the College's VCE Vocational Major program, ensuring the successful delivery of a high-quality applied learning pathway that aligns with VCAA requirements and the College's educational vision. Reporting to the Head of Senior School - Operational, the Coordinator leads curriculum development, program implementation and pathway coordination while supporting students, staff and families throughout the VCE VM journey. Working closely with senior leadership, teaching staff, careers personnel and external partners, the VCE VM Coordinator will:

Lead the strategic development and day-to-day operation of the VCE Vocational Major program

Provide curriculum leadership across Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills

Ensure compliance with VCAA requirements, assessment standards and reporting processes





Coordinate Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) programs and associated industry partnerships

Support and oversee VET and School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) pathways

Lead curriculum review, moderation and continuous improvement initiatives

Monitor student engagement, attendance, progress and pathway outcomes

Build strong relationships with employers, TAFEs, RTOs and community organisations

Support student transitions into further education, training and employment

Lead and mentor staff involved in the delivery of the VCE VM program

Contribute to whole-school curriculum planning and improvement initiatives

Promote the value and success of vocational and applied learning pathways within the College community

The role requires a team-oriented and proactive leader who can balance strategic planning with operational excellence while maintaining a strong focus on student success and pathway outcomes.

About You The successful candidate will be an experienced educator and leader with a deep understanding of vocational and applied learning pathways and a commitment to supporting young people to achieve their goals. You will demonstrate:

Strong knowledge of the VCE Vocational Major and/or previous VCAL framework

Experience leading curriculum development, assessment and program implementation

Experience coordinating Structured Workplace Learning, VET or applied learning programs

Thorough understanding of VCAA compliance, assessment and reporting requirements

Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop teaching teams

Highly developed organisational, administrative and project management skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Strong relationship-building skills with students, families, industry and training providers





A commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse student pathways

The ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement within applied learning programs

Key Selection Criteria The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Demonstrated knowledge of the VCE Vocational Major (VM) and/or VCAL framework , including curriculum design, assessment practices and VCAA compliance requirements.

Proven experience in curriculum and program leadership , with the ability to develop, implement and continuously improve applied learning programs that support positive student outcomes.

Experience coordinating Structured Workplace Learning (SWL), VET, SBAT or similar vocational pathways , including building and maintaining effective industry and training partnerships.

Strong organisational and administrative capability , with experience managing complex compliance, reporting, timetabling and student pathway requirements.

Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills , with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, staff, employers, RTOs, TAFEs and community stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support teaching staff , fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing , with the ability to support diverse learners and guide students towards successful post‑school pathways.

Qualifications and Requirements

Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration

Relevant teaching qualifications

Experience teaching within VCE VM, VCAL, VET or applied learning programs

Current Working with Children Check

Current driver's licence (desirable)
