We are looking for a Senior Database & Data Engineer with solid experience in SQL, database engineering, AWS data services, and cloud data migration and you will be part of a data modernisation initiative focused on migrating traditional Microsoft data platforms to AWS, including SQL Server to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, SSIS to AWS Glue, SSAS to Amazon Redshift, and SSRS to Amazon QuickSight.

Key Responsibilities

- Migrate and modernise SQL Server databases to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Analyse and convert SSIS packages and ETL workflows to AWS Glue.
- Migrate SSAS models and analytical workloads to Amazon Redshift.
- Rebuild SSRS reports and dashboards using Amazon QuickSight.
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data solutions.
- Develop and optimise SQL queries, database schemas, and data models.
- Perform database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database and data engineering deployments.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, reconciliation, and operational support processes.
- Support data migration testing, cutover, validation, and post-production activities.
- Work closely with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and reporting teams.

Essential Skills

- 5+ years of Database / Data Engineering experience.




- Strong hands-on SQL development and database performance tuning.
- Strong data modelling and database design skills.
- Experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue.
- Experience with Amazon Redshift.
- Experience with Amazon QuickSight.
- Strong experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark.
- Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of data governance, security, data quality, and production support.

Desirable AWS Experience

- AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
- AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)
- SQL Server → Aurora PostgreSQL
- SSIS → AWS Glue
- SSAS → Amazon Redshift
- SSRS → Amazon QuickSight

What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can work hands-on across database migration, data engineering, AWS services, ETL/ELT, and reporting modernisation and who is comfortable working in a complex enterprise environment.

Experience supporting end-to-end migration activities, testing, reconciliation, cutover, and production support will be highly regarded.
