About the role

Grange Dental Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate experienced Dental Assistant as well as a Dental assistant trainee to join our team on a full-time basis at our practice located in Grange SA 5022. These are pivotal roles within our dental practice, where you will provide essential support to our dental practitioners and play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring our clinic operates smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting dentists during patient treatment by passing instruments, materials and equipment as required
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
- Taking and processing dental radiographs (X-rays) under the supervision of qualified practitioners
- Recording patient treatment notes and maintaining accurate clinical records
- Welcoming patients, managing appointment scheduling and handling administrative duties
- Providing chairside support during various dental procedures including restorations, extractions and preventative treatments
- Assisting with patient education and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Supporting the dental team in delivering high-quality patient experiences
- Following all relevant health and safety regulations and infection control standards

What we're looking for

- A recognised Dental Assistant qualification or equivalent certification
- Current registration with the relevant dental regulatory body or eligibility to register
- Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and dental professionals
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail




- The capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- A genuine commitment to patient care and safety
- Reliable and punctual with a positive team-oriented attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with dental practitioners
- Physical ability to perform duties including standing for extended periods and lifting light items
- Preferred: Experience working in a dental practice or healthcare setting
- Preferred: Additional qualifications in dental radiography or dental hygiene assistance
