Job Opportunity: Design and Business Development Assistant – Mechanical Louvre Window Manufacturing

Are you looking for a dynamic role in the manufacturing industry? We are seeking a Design and Business Development Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting prospect to work with innovative mechanical louvre window solutions, combining design, manufacturing, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

- Assist in the finalisation of louvre designs

- Draw and sequence louvre components for machining using AutoCAD

- Prepare prototypes and associated drawings for approval

- Check shop drawings, panel layouts, glass sizes, and hardware compatibility

- Understand louvre mechanisms, including motors and BMS integration for fire and ventilation systems

Procurement & Production Planning:
- Prepare parts lists and cutting sheets

- Conduct material take-offs, optimisations, and track material usage

- Organise material procurement, fabrication, and delivery to site

- Order and manage factory consumables

- Plan factory production and logistics to meet project deadlines

- Operate and maintain CNC machinery

- Design and manufacture jigs for factory and site use

Project Coordination & Logistics:
- Check incoming purchase orders and prepare delivery dockets for site deliveries

- Liaise with project managers and site crews to coordinate deliveries

- Attend in-house project meetings, providing procurement and production updates





- Perform any other tasks necessary to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Support mock-up, testing, and documentation of results

- Conduct QA checks during production and upon delivery

- Assist with offshore production where applicable

Marketing & Business Development:
- Assist with marketing, pricing, and quotations for Facade Solutions louvres

- Support website development and ongoing maintenance

Requirements:

- Mechanical Engineering degree or trade qualifications

- Experience in facade or window manufacturing (preferred)

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software)

- Strong technical understanding of mechanisms and mechanical fixings

- Ability to manage procurement, logistics, and production planning

- Experience with CNC machinery (preferred but not essential)

- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
