Primary objective The position is responsible for identifying, designing and supporting service improvements across Finance Services through digital solutions, automation,

process redesign and data-driven decision making. The role works closely with the Director Finance Services Operations to analyse current practices,

identify efficiencies and support the adoption of contemporary digital tools and technologies. The position promotes a culture of continuous improvement and builds team capability to make better use of existing enterprise systems and platforms. This vacancy may be available in any region throughout the NT subject to negotiation with the successful applicant.

Context statement

Finance Services delivers corporate financial management, transaction processing, banking, accounts payable, reconciliation, asset management and financial reporting services across Government. The unit is committed to service excellence,



continuous improvement and contemporary digital solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen controls and enhance customer outcomes.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Analyse business processes, services and workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness and customer outcomes.
2. Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
3. Design, document and support the implementation of process improvements, workflow enhancements and service redesign initiatives.
4. Identify practical digital, automation and technology-enabled improvements using approved enterprise platforms.
5. Support business areas to effectively use digital, automation and data analytics tools to improve efficiency, decision making and service delivery.
6. Develop reporting, dashboards and data analysis tools to support operational decision making and performance monitoring.
7. Provide advice, guidance and capability development on continuous improvement, digital enablement and better ways of working.
8. Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of business improvement and digital transformation initiatives across Finance Services.
9. Prepare and maintain business documentation, process maps, procedures, reports and implementation materials to support operational excellence.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience analysing business processes, services and workflows to identify practical opportunities for service improvement and

operational efficiency.
1. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing process improvements,



workflow enhancements or service redesign initiatives that deliver

measurable operational benefits.
1. Demonstrated experience using digital and automation tools, including Power Automate or similar platforms, to improve business processes and

operational efficiency.
1. Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting and visualisation using Power BI or similar tools to support operational decision making and

performance monitoring.
1. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, assess options and translate business needs into practical

solutions.
1. Robust stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to understand business requirements, build productive relationships and influence positive change.
2. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare business documentation, process maps, procedures, reports

and implementation materials.
1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful and innovative.

Desirable

1. Experience applying structured business and service improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Agile or human-centred design.
2. Experience working in finance, Government shared services or other complex corporate service environments.
