We are seeking an experienced and commercially drivenGeneral Managerto lead and grow our bulk haulage operations.

This is a senior leadership role for an accomplished transport professional who understands the demands ofbulk haulage, knows how to run a safe and efficient fleet, and can lead people while delivering strong operational and financial results.

You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the business, working closely with the leadership team, customers and drivers to ensure we deliver a safe, reliable and commercially successful operation.

About the role

As General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the bulk haulage business, working closely with the leadership team, customers and drivers to ensure a safe, reliable and commercially successful operation.

Key responsibilities

n

- Providing strategic and operational leadership across the bulk haulage business
n
- Managing and optimising fleet utilisation, productivity and operating costs
n
- Leading and developing a team of managers, supervisors, drivers and support staff
n
- Maintaining strong relationships with key customers and identifying new business opportunities
n
- Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, safety and transport legislation
n
- Driving a strong safety culture across the organisation
n




- Managing budgets, P&L; performance, margins and commercial outcomes
n
- Improving systems, processes and operational efficiency
n
- Overseeing fleet maintenance, availability and replacement planningManaging workforce planning, recruitment, performance and employee engagement
n

About you

n

- Significant senior management experience within bulk haulage, transport or logistics
n
- Strong knowledge of bulk transport operations and fleet management
n
- Demonstrated experience managing drivers and operational teams
n
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L; responsibility
n
- A proven ability to improve productivity, utilisation and profitability
n
- Excellent knowledge of Australian heavy vehicle compliance and Chain of Responsibility requirements
n
- Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills
n
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities
n
