: Casual Support Workers (Male & Female Required)

Shifts Available:

- Male Support Workers: 6–8 hour shifts (Day, Evening, and Night shifts available).
- Female Support Workers: Morning and Evening shifts available.

Position PurposeWe are seeking 2–3 dedicated and experienced Casual Support Workers (both male and female staff are required to meet participant preferences) to provide high-quality, person-centred care. The successful candidates will assist with regular daily duties and must possess proven experience in managing complex behaviours. Extensive knowledge and practical training in Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes management are essential for this role.Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Complex Behaviour Support: Implement positive behaviour support strategies, manage challenging behaviors safely, and maintain a calm, stable environment.
- Diabetes Care: Monitor Blood Glucose Levels (BGL) and utilise Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM). Assist with diabetes management plans in line with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes protocols.
- Medication Assist: Safely administer and prompt medications according to individual care plans and compliance standards.
- Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care, meal preparation, domestic assistance, and community access.
- Manual Handling: Safely assist with transfers and mobility support as required.
- Must be able to understand and follow PBS plan of the participants.

Mandatory Requirements & Clearances To be considered for this role, you must possess all of the following clearances and certifications:

Qualifications & Training

- Medication Administration Certificate
- Diabetes Training (specifically covering CGM and BGL monitoring)
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
- CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)
- Manual Handling Certificate

1. Clearances & Compliance

- NDIS Worker Screening Check (current)
- Police check (less then 3 month from date of issue)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence or equivalent
- Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (Must use same car for transporting participant)

Skills & Experience Required
- Experience: Demonstrated experience working as a support worker handling complex behaviours.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the differences, risks, and management strategies for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for accurate shift logging and incident reporting.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a variety of rostered hours (including nights for male staff and mornings/evenings for female staff).
