Disability Support Worker

Sovereign Lives WA is seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across multiple locations in Perth.

We provide person-centred support to people living with disability, empowering them to achieve greater independence, exercise choice and control, maintain their dignity, and actively participate in their communities.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker with Sovereign Lives WA, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each participant’s individual needs, goals, preferences, and support plans. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting participants with mental health and psychosocial disabilities and demonstrate a strong understanding of qualified boundaries within the disability support environment.

Current Vacancies

We are currently recruiting for the following locations:

- Banksia Grove – Male and Female Support Workers Candidates with good availability and flexibility will be preferred.

- Yanchep – Female Support Workers Only (due to participant support needs and preferences) Availability required on Tuesdays and Fridays.

- Ellenbrook – Male Support Workers Only (due to participant support needs and preferences) Availability required on weekdays.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver person-centred support in accordance with individual support plans and participant goals.
- Assist participants with personal care, daily living activities, and household tasks.
- Support community access, appointments, social participation, and recreational activities.
- Promote participant independence, choice, dignity, privacy, and inclusion.

- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with participants and their families.




- Implement behaviour support strategies and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans where required.
- Assist with medication in accordance with organisational procedures and individual support plans.

- Complete accurate and timely progress notes, incident reports, medication documentation, and other required records.
- Identify and appropriately report incidents, risks, concerns, and changes in participant needs.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with participants, families, allied health professionals, and internal teams.

- Follow Sovereign Lives WA policies and procedures, NDIS Practice Standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Attend required training, team meetings, and professional development activities.

About You

We are looking for candidates who:
- Are caring, patient, respectful, and genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability.
- Have experience supporting participants with mental health or psychosocial disabilities.

- Have a strong understanding of professional boundaries and their importance when supporting vulnerable participants.
- Understand and respect confidentiality, dignity, choice, participant rights, and privacy.

- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are reliable, flexible, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality support.

Essential Requirements

Successful candidates must have:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current Working With Children Check, where applicable

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle suitable for participant transport

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a related qualification
- Current Australian working rights
