About the role

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our team here in our Morningside Office and contribute to the design and technical drawing process across a range of exciting projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes, including cutting, laser cutting, folding, welding, fitting and assembly. You will be responsible for developing detailed drawings and designs that are not only accurate and functional, but also practical and effective to manufacture.

Working closely with our workshop and production teams, you will have the opportunity to take projects from concept and design through to fabrication and installation. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys solving practical problems, working collaboratively, and seeing their designs become real-world products.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare detailed submittal design drawings for client approval
- Prepare technical drawings for fabrication
- Prepare layout drawings for installation
- Prepare DXF drawings for CNC and laser machines
- Maintain documentation and drawings in conjunction with company and industry standards




- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and project requirements throughout
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements when developing solutions
- Ability to read and clearly interpret building plans and drawings

About you

- High attention to detail
- AutoCAD 2D/3D experience
- Sheet metal bend development and flat-pattern creation
- Structural steel and general metal fabrication knowledge
- Ability to solve practical problems and work collaboratively

Preferred but not required

- Prior sheet metal or cabinet making/shopfitting experience. This will be very favourably viewed, however is not a minimum requirement.
- Any industry specific drafting experience with accuracy and proficiency in mind
- Knowledge in CNC machinery or sheet metal
- Quality control experience within a factory or job site setting
