We're seeking an experienced literacy specialist to serve as a consultant, guiding our product and content development to ensure it's grounded in evidence-based, dyslexia-informed instructional practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on reading and literacy instruction methods proven effective for dyslexic learners
- Help identify appropriate reading level progressions, phonics sequencing, and literacy skill-building strategies
- Provide feedback on prototypes and pilot content
- Recommend assessment approaches to track student progress
- Participate in periodic check-ins/consultations with the founding team
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of direct teaching experience working with dyslexic students on reading and literacy skills
- Robust knowledge of structured literacy approaches and dyslexia-specific interventions
- Familiarity with reading development stages and phonological awareness instruction
- Ability to translate classroom/clinical expertise into practical guidance for a digital product
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable working with a non-education product/tech team
Pay: From $40.00 per hour Work Location: Hybrid remote in Canberra ACT
