Whole Self Independent Life Learning (W.I.L.L.) is looking for exceptional people to join our team and we're particularly interested in hearing from experienced independent support workers considering what comes next.

n

We don't need someone to simply fill a shift.

n

We need people who can connect, mentor, problem-solve, teach, encourage and genuinely make a difference.

n

Whole Self supports autistic and neurodivergent teenagers and young adults to build independence, reconnect with education and employment, develop meaningful relationships and participate in their communities.

Our approach is different and so are the people we employ.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

n

You might already work for a disability provider.

n

You might be an experienced youth worker.

n

You might currently work independently and love the autonomy you've created, but be wondering what the changing NDIS registration and compliance environment will mean for independent workers.

n

Either way, if you're exceptional at what you do, we'd like to meet you.

You'll probably fit our team if you:

- Build genuine relationships without losing skilled boundaries.

- Understand autism and neurodivergence beyond a textbook or online module.
n
- Can walk into an unfamiliar situation, assess what's happening and use your initiative.

- Stay calm, practical and useful when things don't go according to plan.

- Understand that supporting independence sometimes means stepping back rather than doing things for someone.

- Communicate openly and professionally with families, colleagues and stakeholders.

- Can work autonomously without behaving like an island.

- Take documentation, safeguarding and professional responsibilities seriously.

- Welcome feedback, accountability and ongoing learning.

- See potential in young people others may have given up on.

The NDIS is changing, and for many independent support workers the increasing focus on registration, governance and compliance raises some big questions about what working independently may look like in the future.

n

Whole Self is exploring a different pathway for experienced independent professionals, one that aims to preserve autonomy while providing access to the systems, governance, compliance, professional support and team behind an established registered provider.

n

THIS ISN'T A "BABYSITTING" ROLE

Our goal isn't to make young people dependent on support.

n





It's the opposite.

n

We teach skills. We build confidence. We create opportunities. We support young people through difficult moments. We help them take calculated risks, experience success and failure, solve problems and increasingly navigate life for themselves.

n

Sometimes you'll be working alongside a young person at home.

n

Other days you could be supporting education, employment, community participation, life skills or working collaboratively with families and allied health professionals.

n

No two days are quite the same.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

n

Relevant disability, youth, community services or lived qualified experience is highly regarded.

n

More importantly, we're looking for maturity, judgement, initiative, reliability, emotional intelligence and an excellent understanding of professional boundaries.

n

You will need to meet all relevant worker screening, safeguarding, licence, First Aid/CPR and employment requirements applicable to the role.
