Senior Business Analyst

to support an exciting finance systems transformation within a complex financial services environment. About the Role This role will play a key part in an early-stage transformation initiative, focused on simplifying the finance technology landscape and transitioning from a legacy

Oracle General Ledger

to a more streamlined GL solution. You’ll work closely with

Finance, Technology, Architecture, Delivery, Risk and external partners

to understand the current environment, define the future state and establish the requirements and business case for the transformation. Responsibilities Lead the business analysis and requirements activity across a finance systems transformation. Elicit, analyse and document current-state and future-state business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements. Facilitate workshops with Finance, Technology, Architecture, business and delivery stakeholders to understand processes, pain points, dependencies and future needs. Map systems, interfaces, data flows and upstream/downstream dependencies, identifying impacts and risks associated with change. Assess the implications of decommissioning a legacy GL, including data retention, audit, reconciliation, reporting and operational continuity requirements. Contribute to the business case, including options analysis and cost-benefit considerations. Develop and contribute to RFP documentation and support the engagement of external consultants and technology vendors. Translate complex business needs into clear, structured requirements that can be understood and actioned by delivery teams and vendors.



Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities for process and technology simplification. Support the development of a explicit future-state operating and systems model. Ideal Skills Proven experience eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements across current and future states. Experience working with

ERP, General Ledger or finance systems . Oracle GL experience would be highly regarded. Strong understanding of systems integration, interfaces, dependencies and data flows. Experience assessing impacts associated with legacy system decommissioning or application rationalisation. Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience contributing to business cases, RFPs, procurement or vendor selection processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences. Experience within

financial services, superannuation or fund administration

would be highly desirable. Exposure to

Sonata Superannuation Registry and finance system integration

would be an advantage. About you You are

You’re highly organised, pragmatic and proactive, and can bring structure to ambiguous or evolving environments. You’re confident facilitating conversations with senior stakeholders and can influence outcomes without needing to own the solution yourself. Most importantly, you’re someone who enjoys

solving complex problems, simplifying processes and helping organisations make better technology and business decisions .
