Currently on the market for an Infrastructure Engineer for an initial 6-month contract for one of our leading clients, located in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will have to go to the Geelong office three times a week.

About the Role

n

We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team supporting one of Australia's most critical industrial and energy operations.

n

This position has been created to help the infrastructure team manage increasing cyber security remediation requirements, operational support activities and infrastructure uplift initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure systems while partnering with a broad range of technical and operational stakeholders across the business.

n

Key responsibilities:

n

Cyber Security and Vulnerability Remediation

n

n
- Investigate and assess infrastructure-related vulnerabilities.
n
- Review cyber security findings and determine remediation approaches.
n
- Coordinate remediation activities with internal teams and external vendors.
n
- Track remediation progress and provide updates to key stakeholders.
n
- Support cyber security compliance and risk reduction initiatives
n

Infrastructure Support and Administration

n

n
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments.
n




- Support VMware infrastructure and virtualised environments.
n
- Perform system upgrades, patching and maintenance activities.
n
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, server and operating system issues.
n
- Assist with incident resolution and operational support activities.
n

n

Infrastructure Projects

n

n
- Support infrastructure refresh and upgrade programs.
n
- Assist with workstation and hardware replacement initiatives.
n
- Participate in laboratory technology uplift projects.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement and modernisation activities.
n

n

Stakeholder Engagement

n

n
- Work closely with business and operational stakeholders across the refinery.
n
- Engage with engineering, laboratory and operational teams to understand requirements.
n
- Partner with vendors and technology providers to support specialised systems.
n
- Translate technical issues into practical business outcomes.
n

About You:

n

n
- Strong experience in Windows Server administration.
n
- Experience supporting VMware environments.
n
- Background in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
n
- Experience performing system upgrades, patching and infrastructure maintenance.
n
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
n
- Experience within manufacturing, utilities, mining, energy or critical infrastructure environments.
n
- Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments.
n
- Experience supporting cyber security remediation programs.
