About the role

EQUANS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. This is a full time position based in Silverwater, NSW 2128. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our commercial and industrial operations, providing accurate cost assessments and project quotations that directly impact our business success. Your expertise will help secure new projects and ensure profitable delivery of electrical works across diverse sectors.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare detailed electrical estimates and quotations for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects of varying complexity

- Review project specifications, plans and drawings to determine scope of works and material requirements

- Calculate labour costs, material costs and overheads to produce competitive and accurate pricing

- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project conditions and identify potential risks or complications

- Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers and suppliers to clarify project requirements and gather necessary information

- Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost information and pricing schedules

- Provide technical advice to support the sales team and assist in tender preparation

- Monitor market trends, supplier pricing and industry standards to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate

- Prepare tender documentation and support the bid process from initial enquiry through to project award

- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure estimates translate accurately into project delivery and profitability

What we're looking for





- Formal qualification in electrical trade or equivalent, with recognised trade certification as a Licensed Electrician

- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical estimating or a related commercial/industrial electrical role

- Proven track record of producing accurate estimates and quotations within the electrical contracting industry

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labour practices and industry standards relevant to commercial and industrial projects

- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications; experience with specialist estimating platforms is advantageous

- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

- Strong communication and negotiation abilities to work effectively with clients, suppliers and internal teams

- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, technical drawings and specifications

- Sound understanding of project management principles and construction methodologies

- Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards and regulations including AS/NZS standards

- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates concurrently and meet tight deadlines
