About the role

This is a fulltime ongoing position commencing January 2027. The role is part of St Norbert College, a Christian community which lives the Gospel values and offers a nurturing and inclusive school life for young people. You will be a supportive and active contributor towards the realisation of the College's vision, playing an important part in the culture of the College and the future of students.

Key responsibilities

- Demonstrate a working knowledge of current curriculum developments in Courses of Study and teaching and learning for Years 7 - 12
- Present pedagogical proficiency, motivational and cutting-edge classroom practices
- Exhibit an enjoyment from building relationships with adolescents
- Display a passion for teaching English
- Be inclusive of the diverse needs of learners
- Work as part of the English Learning Area team in programming, assessing, providing feedback and reporting
- Attend student reviews and parent/student/teacher nights
- Set high goals and standards for students and provide interventions for improvement
- Use data to measure student achievement and inform teaching practices




- Carry out teaching duties as negotiated with the Head of Learning Area

About you

- Be supportive of the Catholic and Norbertine ethos of the College
- Be willing to contribute and participate in Co-Curricular activities
- Hold a current TRBWA registration and Working with Children Clearance
- Undertake Mandatory Reporting training (CPPMR) and maintain annually
- Abide by the guidelines contained in the St Norbert College Code of Conduct
- Professional standard of dress and personal presentation
- Personal commitment to tasks undertaken
- Enthusiasm and energy
- High standard of organisational and time management skills
- Work collaboratively with staff, students and parents
