Enterprise Security Architect | Regulated Financial Services | Sydney

Our client is a well-established Australian business in a heavily regulated sector. Security is a board-level priority for them, and they're hiring an Enterprise Security Architect to shape how the technology estate is designed and protected across the business.

The role

You'll be the senior technical authority on security design, working closely with the security leadership team and business stakeholders. You'll translate business needs into secure, reusable design patterns, then guide teams through implementation across network, cloud, infrastructure, application and data security.

This role suits an architect who enjoys influencing outcomes as much as producing designs and being hands-on.

What you'll do

- Define and maintain reusable security patterns and reference architectures used across the organisation
- Work with business and technology teams to understand requirements and shape secure solutions
- Design and oversee security across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments
- Contribute to the security technology roadmap across identity, endpoint and network
- Embed threat modelling and secure design practices into delivery
- Assess emerging technologies, including AI, for security risk




- Align designs to recognised frameworks and local regulatory obligations
- Mentor others and lift architecture capability across the function

What you'll bring

- Extensive cybersecurity experience, including time in an enterprise or security architecture role
- Experience designing security in a regulated Australian environment
- Hands-on depth in several of: Zero Trust, cloud, application security, network security, identity, DevSecOps, AI
- Sound knowledge of architecture principles and risk-based decision making
- Confident communicator who can work with both engineers and executives
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience

Advantageous

- Senior certifications such as SABSA, TOGAF, CISSP or CCSP
- Experience in a regulated industry and with operational resilience
