About the role
n
This is a hands on, stand alone, people focused HR role with the opportunity to take ownership of a broad range of HR responsibilities.
n
The successful person will work closely with management, payroll and the wider team to improve HR processes, implement policies and procedures, and help drive a payroll system update.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Supporting the business through a payroll system update and helping drive the project through to completion.
n
- Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
n
- Managing onboarding and employee processes.
n
- Keeping HR projects and initiatives on track.
n
- Providing practical, hands-on HR support to managers and employees.
n
- Supporting employee relations and maintaining strong workplace relationships.
n
- Ensuring HR processes remain consistent across multiple locations.
n
- Assisting with award interpretation and compliance, particularly the Retail Award.
n
- Helping improve and maintain HR systems and processes as the business continues to grow.
n
- Travelling between locations when required.
n

About you
n
You don't need to be the most experienced HR professional in the market. We're looking for someone who is practical, personable and confident enough to take ownership.
n
You will ideally have
n
n
- Experience in a generalist HR, People & Culture or similar role.
n
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- A hands-on and practical approach.
n
- The ability to build relationships across a diverse workforce.
n
- Excellent organisation and project management skills.
n
- Confidence working independently and taking initiative.
n
- Strong IT skills and an ability to learn and implement new systems.
n
- Experience with onboarding and policy development.
n
- An understanding of employment awards, ideally including the Retail Award.
n
- The flexibility to travel between locations when required.
n
- A genuine interest in people and creating positive employee experiences.
n
n
Working arrangements
n
n
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
n
- Office-based role with the flexibility to work from home a couple of days per week.
n
- Flexible start and finish times.
n
- The business generally finishes at 4:30pm, with operations starting as early as 6:00am.
n
- Travel between sites may be required.
