We are partnering with an established Australian gold producer operating a long-life open-pit operation in Queensland.

The site has a well-established technical services function and a collaborative operating environment, with geology working closely alongside mining engineering, planning, metallurgy and production.

The operation offers strong exposure to active production geology, grade control and structural interpretation, with a practical, hands-on culture where geologists are expected to understand what is occurring in the pit and contribute directly to operational decision-making.

The Opportunity

n

This is an operational Mine Geologist position focused on providing accurate and timely geological support across active open-pit mining operations.

n

You will work closely with senior geology personnel, mining crews and the broader technical services team to support grade control, ore definition, ore recovery and production outcomes.

n

The deposit is structurally complex, requiring geologists to use practical pit-based interpretation and mapping rather than simply relying on block models. There is strong exposure to structural geology, short-range grade variability and the geological controls influencing mineralisation.

This is a rostered site-based position, with DIDO and FIFO candidates able to be considered depending on experience, suitability and the final roster arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Conduct pit mapping, geological logging and interpretation across active mining areas.
n
- Support grade control drilling, sampling and ore delineation programs.
n
- Deliver daily ore mark-ups, dig block instructions and in-pit geological guidance.
n
- Work closely with mining operations to minimise ore loss and dilution.
n
- Maintain accurate geological data, database records and reconciliation information.
n
- Support geological modelling and interpretation using site software systems.
n
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly geology reporting.
n
- Collaborate with mine planning,



metallurgy and production teams to support ore blending and mine-to-mill performance.

- Monitor geological and structural conditions impacting mining.
n
- Contribute to ongoing improvement across grade control systems, data management and operational efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

n

n
- Bachelor of Science in Geology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
n
- Approximately 2-5+ years experience in open-pit mining.
n
- Previous gold experience is highly regarded.
n
- Strong understanding of grade control and production geology.
n
- Practical pit mapping and geological interpretation capability.
n
- Experience with RC and/or grade control drilling programs.
n
- Exposure to geological modelling and mine geology software.
n
- Datamine experience would be advantageous.
n
- Experience with geological database systems is highly regarded.
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with mining, planning and technical teams.
n
- Current manual driver licence.
n
- A practical, proactive and safety-focused approach.
