An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join my client - an established commercial construction business with a significant presence and growing project pipeline across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

This is a senior role within a business experiencing continued growth and with a strong pipeline of upcoming construction work.

You will have the opportunity to play an important part in shaping the projects the business pursues, contribute to pre-construction strategy and work with an experienced leadership and delivery team.

This dynamic role will suit an experienced estimator who enjoys being involved beyond simply putting a number together - working collaboratively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the delivery team to develop commercially sound construction solutions.

About The Role

n

Reporting into senior management, you will take responsibility for the preparation and management of tenders across a range of commercial construction projects.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Managing tenders from initial review through to final submission
n
- Detailed measurement and preparation of estimates
n
- Trade package scoping and procurement
n
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
n
- Preparing detailed cost plans and tender submissions
n
- Identifying project risks, opportunities and value management initiatives
n
- Reviewing documentation and resolving tender queries
n
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors throughout the tender process
n




- Developing construction methodologies and preliminary programs
n
- Maintaining strong relationships with the local subcontractor market
n
- Supporting and mentoring other members of the estimating team
n
- Assisting with tender handover to project delivery teams
n

About You

n

You will be an experienced construction estimator with a strong understanding of the commercial building market and the ability to independently manage complex tenders.

n

Ideally you will have:

n

n
- Significant estimating experience with a commercial head contractor
n
- Strong knowledge of construction methodology and trade packages
n
- Excellent understanding of construction costs and the subcontractor market
n
- Experience preparing detailed commercial construction tenders
n
- Strong analytical and commercial skills
n
- Excellent communication and negotiation capability
n
- A team-oriented approach to working with clients, consultants and delivery teams
n
- Relevant construction, engineering or quantity surveying qualifications
n
- Knowledge of the Toowoomba/Darling Downs subcontractor market would be particularly advantageous.
