Role Description

This full-time Environmental Consultant role is based in Chatswood, NSW, in a hybrid working arrangement that combines on-site office work with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves preparing high-quality environmental reports and assessments, including Environmental Impact Statements and supporting documentation for mining, quarrying and related projects. Day-to-day tasks include conducting environmental investigations and data analysis, reviewing regulatory requirements, and providing practical advice on environmental compliance and risk management.

Consultant will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to project planning, approvals processes, and monitoring programs. The role also includes helping to identify best-practice environmental solutions, supporting junior team members, and maintaining clear, professional communication with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Environmental Consulting and Environmental Science, with experience applying these in mining, quarrying, or related industries.
- Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Compliance, including familiarity with relevant legislation, approvals processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Candidates should possess excellent Report Writing skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise technical documents for both expert and non-expert audiences.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation capabilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a consulting environment.
- Experience with GIS, environmental monitoring methods, or impact modeling tools is beneficial.
