This is a temporary full-time position commencing in Term 4, from 6 October until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months. About Us Established in 1912, Mount Morgan State High School has a long history and strong connection to the local community. Located in the historic mining town of Mount Morgan, around 40 km south-west of Rockhampton, the school provides education for students in Years 7-12.

With around 230 students, the school offers a close-knit secondary school workplace with a strong focus on student achievement, wellbeing and engagement.

Your Opportunity As Head of Department - Junior Secondary,



you will lead the Junior Secondary phase and work with teachers to strengthen teaching and learning and support positive outcomes for students.

You Will

- Lead teaching and learning across Junior Years.
- Support teachers to implement effective, explicit teaching practices.
- Strengthen student engagement, achievement and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with staff, students, families and the wider community.
- Contribute to the school's academic, vocational and future pathways.
