Our client is a well-established Australian organisation operating across multiple sites nationally. They are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their Brisbane-based team.

The Role As the Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate, compliant and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll services across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong award interpretation capability, advanced proficiency in systems, and ownership of statutory and compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll across multiple entities and jurisdictions, including onboarding, change-of-details, transfers, terminations, redundancies and leave payouts

Accurately interpret and apply industrial instruments

Manage payroll tax across multiple states including calculations, lodgements and reconciliations

Oversee superannuation processing and compliance, including quarterly contributions and query resolution

Support PAYG withholding obligations in coordination with finance and external accountants

Manage payroll-related WorkCover activities including processing payments, reconciling reimbursements, liaising with insurers,



and supporting annual declarations across multiple states

Maintain payroll policies, procedures and audit documentation, and drive ongoing process, accuracy and risk‑reduction improvements

About You

Demonstrated experience running end‑to‑end payroll across multiple entities and jurisdictions

Robust understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and WorkCover requirements

High level of accuracy, attention to detail and accountability

Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and resolve complex payroll matters independently
