Job Description
Community Stakeholder and Engagement Officer-Manager
n
Our client is a large organisation delivering major transport and infrastructure programs and projects across NSW.
n
They are currently seeking experienced Community and Stakeholder Engagement professionals across three levels to support engagement activities across major projects and programs.
n
Role Description
n
The roles will support effective community and stakeholder engagement, working closely with project teams, communities, contractors and senior stakeholders.
n
Depending on the level, responsibilities will range from delivering day-to-day engagement activities through to developing engagement strategies, providing strategic advice, managing complex stakeholder issues and leading engagement teams.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Develop and deliver community and stakeholder engagement activities
n
- Build and maintain relationships with communities and key stakeholders
n
- Develop and implement engagement and communication plans and strategies
n
- Support consultation activities across projects and programs
n
- Monitor community sentiment, emerging issues and stakeholder concerns
n
- Identify, assess and communicate stakeholder and community risks
n
- Provide advice to project teams and senior stakeholders
n
- Prepare engagement materials, briefings, reports and other communications
n
- Work collaboratively with project, communications and specialist teams
n
- Engage and coordinate with contractors and delivery partners
n
- Support engagement across complex and high-profile projects
n
- Contribute to effective communication between project teams, stakeholders and communities
n
n
CSE Specialist & Manager Level Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide strategic community and stakeholder engagement advice
n
- Develop and implement strategic engagement approaches
n
- Manage complex, sensitive and high-profile stakeholder relationships and issues
n
- Represent community and stakeholder considerations within project teams
n
- Identify and articulate engagement, community and stakeholder risks
n
- Provide advice to senior leaders and project stakeholders
n
- Use community insights and sentiment to inform project decision‐making
n
- Support issues, reputation and risk management
n
- Lead engagement programs and multidisciplinary activities
n
- Manage relationships with contractors and delivery partners
n
- Coach and support engagement professionals
n
n
Manager Level Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead and manage a team of community and stakeholder engagement professionals
n
- Oversee engagement across multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
n
- Provide strategic and operational direction to the engagement team
n
- Lead complex consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
n
- Manage escalated stakeholder, community and project issues
n
- Provide advice to senior leaders and project stakeholders
n
- Oversee engagement deliverables, risks and priorities across projects
n
n
Essential Skills & Experience
n
n
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder engagement, communications or a related field
n
- Experience working with communities, stakeholders and project teams
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Strong stakeholder relationship and engagement skills
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
n
- Experience working across complex or high‐profile projects
n
- Ability to identify,
assess and respond to emerging stakeholder and community issuesExperience developing engagement strategies, plans and supporting collateral
n
- Senior‐level candidates should have experience providing strategic advice and managing complex stakeholder environments
n
- CSE Specialist candidates should have demonstrated experience working within infrastructure, transport, construction or similarly complex project environments
n
- Manager‐level candidates should have experience leading and managing teams, engagement programs or multidisciplinary activities
n
- Experience working with contractors, delivery partners or project teams will be highly regarded
n
n
About the different levels
n
Senior CSE Officer
n
Suited to experienced engagement professionals with strong hands‐on delivery capability. Transport or infrastructure experience is beneficial, although transferable community and stakeholder engagement experience from other sectors will be considered.
n
CSE Specialist
n
Suited to experienced engagement professionals who can independently lead strategic engagement activities and provide advice within complex infrastructure or project environments. Infrastructure or transport project experience is strongly preferred.
n
CSE Manager
n
Suited to experienced engagement leaders with people management capability and a solid track record managing complex stakeholder environments, competing priorities and strategic engagement programs.
n
