Technical Support & Training Specialist Automotive Paint- ColorSpec

Mandatory requirement is a recognised qualification as a an automotive spray painter.

MotorActive is seeking an experienced automotive paint professional to become the technical face of the ColorSpec brand. The role combines hands-on technical support for automotive paint application, product demonstrations, customer training and in-person field support for customers, retailers, distributors and trade partners. This is not a general customer service position. Applicants must be trade-qualified automotive spray painters with strong practical refinishing knowledge and the ability to demonstrate, explain and troubleshoot automotive paint products in real working environments.

Key responsibilities

n

Provide in-person technical support to professional painters, panel shops, retailers, distributors and trade partners.

n

Conduct hands-on product demonstrations and practical training sessions.

n

Troubleshoot paint preparation, application, colour matching and product performance issues.

n

Support field trials, product evaluations and new product launches.

n

Provide practical advice on ColorSpec products,



systems and recommended application processes.

n

Assist customers and partners with paint mixing equipment, related systems and best-practice operating procedures.

n

Investigate technical enquiries and work with internal teams to resolve product issues.

n

Develop technical training materials, demonstrations and support resources.

n

Provide structured field feedback to the Product Manager, Sales and Marketing teams.

n

Represent ColorSpec at customer visits, trade events, exhibitions and industry activities.

About you

n

A recognised trade qualification as an automotive spray painter. [this is mandatory]

n

Substantial hands-on experience applying automotive paint in a professional panel and body repair setting.

n

Demonstrated practical ability in surface preparation, colour matching, paint mixing, application, rectification and finishing.

n

The confidence and credibility to demonstrate products and advise experienced automotive painters.

n

Strong verbal communication and practical training skills.

n

Ability to travel and provide in-person support as required.
