Visual Storyteller (Power BI Consultant)

About the Role

n

BI3 Technologies is looking for a Visual Storyteller / Power BI Consultant who knows how to turn complex data into clear, compelling stories that influence decision-making.

n

This is not just a dashboarding role. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics leaders to design executive-ready insights that are intuitive, trustworthy, and impactful.

n

You'll be embedded with a household-name enterprise client in Sydney, on a long-term engagement, with flexibility to work remotely while spending 2 days per week onsite for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Design and deliver high-quality Power BI dashboards that tell a clear business story
n
- Translate complex datasets into simple, visually compelling insights
n
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand goals, decisions, and pain points
n
- Apply best-practice data visualisation and UX principles
n
- Build semantic models and measures (DAX) that support reusable, scalable reporting
n
- Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure data quality and performance
n
- Present insights confidently to senior stakeholders and executives
n
- Continuously improve dashboard usability, performance, and adoption
n

What We're Looking For

n

Essential:

n

n




- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (reports, dashboards, DAX)
n
- Proven ability to tell stories with data, not just build charts
n
- Experience working with business stakeholders (finance, operations, marketing, etc.)
n
- Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (facts, dimensions, measures)
n
- Ability to explain insights clearly to non-technical audiences
n
- Comfortable working in enterprise environments
n

Nice to Have (but not mandatory):

- Experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL)
n
- Familiarity with UX or design thinking principles
n
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
n
- Background in consulting or client-facing roles
