About the role

SB Hire and Sales is looking for a Finance Officer role focused on financial management, reconciliation, and reporting. You will work alongside the Admin Officer and General Manager to ensure accurate financial data recording, analysis of financials and bank statements, and the building of financial and operational reporting. You will be actively engaged in pursuing overdue debtors and use your skilled experience to guide and educate the team.

Key responsibilities

- Provide exceptional service to clients and suppliers in all interactions
- Ensure XERO is fully reconciled

- Complete EOM reporting
- Set up all client credit accounts
- Assist in collating BAS, EOFY, tax returns, and audit requirements for external accountant
- Complete weekly payroll – collating time sheets and entering data
- Set up bill payments for approval by GM




- Follow up overdue debtors and escalate to debt collector when required
- Ensure all transactions are coded to the correct accounts and cost centres
- Maintain clean, audit-ready books at all times
- Maintain accurate fixed asset register for all hire equipment, vehicles, and plant
- Track finance/lease payments and ensure all are current
- Process depreciation schedules as directed by accountant
- Flag any cash flow concerns or unusual transactions to GM immediately
- Assist in troubleshooting financial data issues

About you

- Certificate III & IV in Bookkeeping
- High level of financial literacy
- Attention to detail focused
