We are excited to announce an opportunity for experienced Firefighters to join the Fire and Rescue team at RAAF Base Gingin, WA. Roster:

- Monday to Thursday: 0800 - 1700 hrs
- Friday: 0800 - 1500 hrs

About the roles

These exciting positions will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to emergencies including incidents involving aviation, structural fire and bushfire. You will perform duties as directed by Station Management including but not limited to:

- Provide Defence aviation rescue and firefighting support to ensure the safety of personnel, aircraft and airfield operations.
- Responsibilities include responding to aircraft emergencies, structural and bushfire incidents, conducting airfield inspections and supporting emergency
- preparedness activities at Defence estates. The role requires working closely with airfield stakeholders to maintain operations, ensure compliance
- with safety standards and deliver effective emergency response capabilities in a high-risk aviation environment

You must:

- be from a recognised State/ Territory or Federal Service or for applicants applying with international experience, qualifications must meet current industry standard.
- supply evidence of the following qualifications with your application. (Only complete applications will be assessed).

The following minimum qualifications are required:
- PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)




- PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- Hold a current HR drivers' licence

Ventia require specific units from within the Certificate levels including the following Public Safety Aviation Units:

- PUAFIR305B Respond to Aviation Incidents (General) and
- PUAFIR205B Respond to Aviation Incidents (Specialist)
- PUAFIR209B Work safely around aircraft
- HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid
- HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation

Special Conditions These positions require the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1 – Secret).Therefore, applicants must:

- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be able to pass an Australian Federal Police check
- Successfully complete a CASA Basic Class 2 pre‑employment medical
