Female Disability Support Worker - Highfields We are seeking a

positive, proactive and reliable female Disability Support Worker

to join our established team supporting

three female participants in a shared home in Highfields .

We currently have a fantastic, highly engaged team who work collaboratively, communicate well and genuinely get involved in supporting the ladies to achieve their goals and enjoy their day-to-day lives. We are looking for someone who can come into this environment,

step up to the plate and become an active member of the team .

This role will suit someone with a genuine

can-do attitude , who takes initiative, notices what needs to be done and gets involved without needing to be constantly directed.

About the Participants The household supports three women with a diverse range of disabilities and support needs, including cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, anxiety, muscle weakness, myotonia, reduced motor control, severe fatigue, respiratory weakness and mobility support needs.

Support includes:

Personal care and continence support

Medication assistance

Manual handling and hoist transfers

Meal preparation and dietary support

Domestic duties and daily routines

Community access and social engagement

planning and preparing nutritious meals, following meal plans and dietary requirements, cooking a variety of meals and encouraging participants to be involved in meal preparation where appropriate .

Applicants should be comfortable walking into the kitchen and confidently preparing a proper meal rather than relying on convenience options or needing step-by-step direction.

Meal preparation plays an important role in supporting the participants' health, independence, routines and personal goals,



so a genuine willingness and ability to cook is essential.

Community Access is an Important Part of the Role Supporting the ladies to remain active and connected to their community is also a key expectation of this position.

Two participants use foldable wheelchairs for community access, which may need to be safely folded and placed into the support worker’s vehicle. Applicants need to be willing and comfortable providing community access and transporting participants and their mobility equipment when required. A

hatchback, sedan or small-to-medium SUV suitable for transporting a foldable wheelchair

is highly advantageous.

Community access may include shopping, appointments, swimming, social activities, community groups, outings and other activities that are meaningful to each participant.

About the Opportunities We have opportunities for

casual backfill , with shifts across the household ranging from:

7:30am–3:00pm

9:00am–3:00pm

1:00pm–8:00pm

5:30pm–11:00pm

We are looking for someone who is

flexible and willing to pick up a variety of shifts .

Tuesday: 9:00am–3:00pm

Friday: 10:00am–2:00pm

Line 2 Week 1

Saturday: 9:00am–1:00pm

Sunday: 9:00am–1:00pm

Saturday: 1:00pm–8:00pm

Sunday: 7:30am–1:00pm

Week 2

Monday: 5:30pm–11:00pm

Wednesday: 5:30pm–11:00pm

Line 3 Week 1

Friday: 1:00pm–8:00pm

Saturday: 5:30pm–11:00pm

Week 2

Thursday: 5:30pm–11:00pm

Saturday: 5:30pm–11:00pm

Sunday: 1:00pm–8:00pm

Doesn’t wait to be asked to get involved or complete everyday household responsibilities

Is reliable, patient, kind and brings positive energy to the home

Is willing to provide community access and transport participants when required

Is comfortable supporting personal care and complex disability needs

Can follow individual support plans, routines, dietary requirements and documentation

Is comfortable with manual handling or willing to undertake relevant training

Genuinely enjoys engaging with participants and supporting them to have active and meaningful days

Experience with disability and complex care is highly regarded; however, we place significant value on

attitude, reliability, initiative, cooking ability and being a genuine team player .

Pay Rates E3.1 (Casual in home and SIL) SCHADS Award E3.1 Casual Rates (before tax):

Base hourly rate: $36.81

Afternoon shift (shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday): $40.49

Active Night shift (Finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday)$41.23

Saturday: $51.54

Sunday: $66.26

Public holiday: $80.99
