SVC Contractor Pty Ltd is seeking experienced and skilled Plasterers, Sheeters & Framers to join our dynamic team in Canberra, ACT. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse building projects across the region. As a Plasterer, Sheeter & Framer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality finishing and structural work that meets industry standards and client expectations. This role is essential to our business operations, ensuring that projects are completed to specification, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and apply plaster to walls, ceilings and other surfaces, ensuring smooth and even finishes
Install and finish plasterboard sheets on internal and external structures
Frame walls, partitions and structural components using timber and metal studs in accordance with building codes and specifications
Measure, cut and fit materials with precision to ensure accurate alignment and proper installation
Perform surface treatments, including sanding, taping and joint sealing to achieve professional finishes
Inspect work to identify defects and make necessary corrections to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
Collaborate with other tradespeople, supervisors and site managers to coordinate workflow and meet project deadlines
Transport and store materials safely on site
Use hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment correctly and safely
What we're looking for
Proven experience in plastering, sheeting and framing work within the building and construction industry
Current and valid driver's licence
Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards and regulations in the ACT
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
White card or equivalent construction induction training (essential)
Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship completion in plastering, sheeting or framing (preferred)
