FOOD AND BEVERAGE ATTENDANTS – IMMEDIATE START The Irish Launceston, Tasmania

Casual | Immediate Start Available

Love hospitality? Work well in a team? Know how to keep your cool when the bar is busy, the band is playing and everyone seems to want something at once?

You might be exactly who we are looking for.

The Irish, Launceston is seeking experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Attendants to join our team.

We are a busy hospitality and entertainment venue with bar meals, live music seven nights a week, weekly specials, functions, events, pool tables and late-night trade.

THE ROLE

This is not a stand-in-one-spot-and-wait-for-instructions kind of job. Hospitality is hands-on, rapid-moving and team-based.

Depending on your experience, classification and rostered duties, you may work across bar service, food service, functions, live entertainment and other front-of-house operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

· Providing friendly and professional customer service;

· Serving beer, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages;

· Preparing mixed drinks appropriate to your experience and classification;

· Taking food and beverage orders;

· Running meals and providing table service;

· Greeting and assisting customers;

· Operating POS, EFTPOS and cash transactions;

· Taking bookings and assisting with reservations;

· Clearing and resetting tables;

· Collecting and polishing glassware;

· Assisting with functions and events;

· Supporting live entertainment nights;

· Assisting with Uber Eats and takeaway orders;

· Restocking bars, fridges and service areas;

· Keeping customer and service areas clean and presentable;

· Completing opening and closing duties;

· Monitoring customer behaviour and responsible service requirements;

· Conducting identification checks where required;

· Reporting incidents, hazards and customer concerns;

· Working cooperatively with bar, kitchen, security and management teams; and

· Completing other lawful and reasonable duties relevant to the position.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for people who enjoy hospitality and understand what good teamwork looks like.

You do not need to be the loudest person in the room. You do need to be reliable, professional, approachable and prepared to contribute.

1. Ideally, you will have:

· Previous hospitality experience;

· Experience in a pub, bar, restaurant or entertainment venue;

· A genuinely positive attitude;

· Strong teamwork skills;

· Excellent customer service;

· Reliability and punctuality;

· A strong work ethic;

· Good communication skills;

· Confidence in dealing with customers;

· The ability to work efficiently under pressure;

· Initiative;

· Good situational awareness;

· Strong personal presentation and hygiene standards;

· Attention to cleanliness and detail;

· A willingness to help across different areas of the venue;

· The ability to follow workplace procedures and reasonable directions;

· A professional approach to feedback;

· Genuine availability; and

· A sense of humour certainly does not hurt.

Most importantly, we are looking for people who:

Turn up.

Pitch in.

Support the team.

Treat people well.

Take pride in what they do.

AVAILABILITY The Irish is a hospitality and entertainment venue, so our busiest periods are often the times everyone else is heading out. Applicants should therefore have genuine availability across a combination of afternoons, evenings, Friday nights, Saturday nights, Sundays, late-night shifts, public holidays, functions, special events and peak trading periods.
