The Food Services Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the preparation and service of high-quality meals for students and school functions. This position involves contributing to food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, ensuring adherence to food safety and health regulations, and assisting the kitchen team in daily operations. You will possess a strong attention to detail, a commitment to food hygiene practices, and a friendly, service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff and students.

We are seeking an individual who is available for 23 hours per week during term times, working on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:00pm to 7:30pm, and Wednesday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, during School term time

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with serving food and interacting with students, parents and staff in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.

- Contribute to the preparation and service of high-quality meals.

- Basic food preparation for student meals and for school functions.

- Ensuring all food preparation tasks are carried out in a timely fashion, to a high standard and within food hygiene guidelines.

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring strict compliance with food hygiene practices to ensure the safety of meals.

- Ensure all kitchen areas, utensils and equipment are kept clean and well organised throughout the day.

About You

- Previous experience in the food service industry.





- Understanding of food safety regulations.

- Ability to work effectively in a team and in a busy environment

- Reliable, flexible and willing to support varying operational needs

- Commitment to maintaining a positive and service-oriented approach

You will also be required to hold:

- Hold current Working with Children Check.

- Hold a current police clearance (dated within the last 6 months).

- Proof of Right to Work in Australia.

- Respect the values, traditions and Anglican ethos of the School.
