The Role
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Driver / Yard Hand to join our client’s team in Springvale, VIC.
This role would suit someone with a commercial construction or industrial yard background, rather than someone with only general warehouse experience. You will be supporting the yard team with the movement, loading and unloading of larger construction screens, platforms, jump forms and other equipment used across commercial projects.
Shift timing: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM | $36.25 / hr + super
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a counterbalance forklift to safely move, load and unload large construction materials and equipment
- Assist with the movement and handling of screens, platforms, jump forms and other formwork equipment
- Support the yard team with the preparation, dispatch and receiving of materials for commercial construction projects
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Assist with general yard duties and manual handling as required
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized yard
- Conduct routine forklift and equipment checks and report any issues
- Follow all site safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture
Requirements
- Valid LF forklift licence (essential)
- Proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction environment
- Experience handling large or oversized materials, equipment or construction products is highly regarded
- Comfortable working around construction materials and equipment
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks and work in a fast-paced setting
- Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
