Role Description As a Forward Deployed Engineer at ELab AI, you will work on-site/remote with clients in Auckland to design, build, and deploy AI-powered software solutions that improve their operations. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand workflows, translate requirements into technical designs, and implement back-end systems and services. Daily tasks include developing and integrating APIs, building data pipelines, optimizing performance,



and ensuring reliability and security of deployed solutions.

You will also assist with testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer to client teams, helping them adopt and maintain the tools you build. This is a full time, on-site role that requires hands-on problem solving, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to different industries and environments.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-grade systems.
- Hands-on skills in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, services, and data integration.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modern development practices.
- Familiarity with AI, data processing, or machine learning concepts and their practical application is beneficial.
- Ability to work directly with clients, gather requirements, and communicate technical concepts in accessible language.
- Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and version control tools (e.g., Git) is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working on-site in Auckland with cross-functional teams and adapting to changing project needs.
