Bowla Design is looking for an experienced Freelance Fashion Designer to join our small team in Cremorne, Melbourne.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on product development and production management, working closely with our clients, offshore factories and suppliers. We’re looking for someone with 5+ years’ industry experience who is confident managing styles from development and sampling through to bulk production.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing day-to-day communication with offshore factories and suppliers
- Managing sampling, production, bulk orders and shipment timelines
- Creating and updating tech packs, specifications and grading
- Running fit sessions, preparing fit notes and communicating amendments
- Resolving production, fit and quality issues
- Responding to client and factory emails throughout the week as required
- Supporting seasonal design, sketches, colour direction and range development

About the role:

Freelance / contractor position | 2 days per week | Cremorne, VIC | Valid ABN required

Applicants must be Melbourne-based and have robust experience across fashion design, garment construction, product development, fit sessions and offshore production.



Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat is required.

This role is best suited to an experienced designer/product developer who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of production. It is not an entry-level or junior position.

Rate: Freelance contractor rate, based on experience.
