FRP PROJECT ENGINEER – MARINE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Roster: METRO - Monday to Friday typically with some weekends.

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in formwork, reinforcement and concrete (FRP) works. Previous experience delivering marine civil construction projects is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will support the planning and delivery of structural concrete works while managing procurement, quality documentation, cost tracking, subcontractors and day-to-day engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate formwork, reinforcement and concrete construction activities.
- Prepare work packs, construction methodologies, lift plans and task-specific documentation.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
- Raise RFIs and technical queries and assist with resolving design and constructability issues.
- Coordinate procurement of reinforcement, formwork, concrete, cast-in items and other project materials.
- Develop and maintain procurement schedules and monitor long-lead items.
- Prepare and manage ITPs, ITRs, checklists, lot records and concrete pour documentation.
- Coordinate inspections, hold points, survey requirements and material testing.
- Manage concrete pour planning, including pre-pour inspections, delivery coordination and post-pour records.
- Track labour, plant, materials, subcontractor costs and project productivity.
- Assist with forecasting, budget reviews, cost-to-complete reporting and progress claims.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors and site crews.
- Monitor construction progress against the program and identify potential delays or constraints.
- Assist with variations,



quantity tracking and commercial documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and contribute to handover and completion documentation.
- Ensure all works comply with project safety, environmental and quality requirements.

About You
- Degree-qualified Civil or Structural Engineer.
- Previous Project Engineer experience within civil construction.
- Strong practical experience delivering FRP or structural concrete works.
- Marine civil construction experience is highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of formwork systems, reinforcement installation, concrete placement and curing requirements.
- Experience managing procurement, QA documentation and project cost tracking.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction tolerances.
- Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
- Commercially aware with good attention to quantities, productivity and costs.
- Able to work closely with supervisors and construction crews in a site-based setting.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and successful project delivery.

Desirable Experience
- Marine structures, wharves, jetties, bridgeworks or port infrastructure.
- Pile caps, headstocks, deck slabs, abutments and other reinforced concrete structures.
- Working around tides, marine access constraints and over-water construction activities.
- Concrete durability requirements for marine environments.
- Temporary works, falsework and complex formwork systems.
- Survey coordination and dimensional control.
- Managing subcontractor packages and supplier interfaces.
