About the role

Tonitto Cakes is seeking a Front of House Bakery Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Wollongong, NSW, this is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of our retail operations and customer-facing team. In this role, you will be the face of our bakery, creating memorable experiences for our customers whilst supporting the smooth running of our front-of-house operations.

This position is integral to our mission of delivering exceptional service and maintaining the high standards that our customers expect from Tonitto Cakes.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, attentive service at the counter
- Processing customer transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system
- Displaying and promoting our bakery products in an appealing and hygienic manner
- Barista skills required to produce consistant, quality beverages
- Handling cash and card payments, ensuring accuracy and security at all times
- Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment
- Assisting customers with product selection and answering questions about our offerings
- Restocking shelves and displays throughout the day
- Supporting the preparation and presentation of bakery items for sale
- Following food safety and health and hygiene protocols
- Providing feedback to management regarding customer preferences and product performance

What we're looking for

- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Strong communication abilities and a genuine passion for helping customers
- Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to consistent attendance




- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic numeracy skills and competence with handling cash and electronic transactions
- A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining a tidy, professional workspace
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends as required
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable
- Barista skill required

Pay: $26.44 – $44.25 per hour Expected hours: No less than 38.0 per week
