Enrolled Nurse - General Medical & Surgical

Join the dynamic clinical team at John Flynn Private Hospital as an Enrolled Nurse (IV Qualified), delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a diverse range of medical and surgical patients. We have casual and permanent part-time/full-time positions available.

In this rewarding role, you will utilise your clinical skills to support patients throughout their hospital journey, including pre- and post-operative care. Working collaboratively with Registered Nurses, medical staff and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to safe, effective and compassionate patient care within a supportive clinical environment.

About You

n

You are a dedicated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse with strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You have previous experience working within a surgical ward and are confident providing care in a busy hospital environment.

n

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong time management abilities and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You are able to maintain positive working relationships while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients across a General Medical and Surgical environment.
n
- Assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the care delivery needs of patients.
n
- Support patients throughout their pre- and post-operative journey.
n
- Maintain a high standard of nursing care for all patients.
n
- Check, prepare and administer medications, including IV medications, in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
n




- Monitor patients and recognise and escape changes in their clinical condition.
n
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
n
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, Registered Nurses, medical staff and the broader multidisciplinary team.
n
- Promote infection prevention and control, patient safety and quality clinical outcomes.
n
- Work within your scope of practice and seek guidance or escape concerns when required.
n
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.
n
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
n

You Will Also Bring

n

n
- Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse.
n
- Minimum two years' postgraduate nursing experience.
n
- Medication endorsed and IV qualified.
n
- Previous experience working within a surgical or medical ward is highly desirable
n
- Strong clinical assessment, observation and patient care skills.
n
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate patient care.
n
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
n
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
n
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.
n
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
- Robust commitment to patient safety, quality care and professional practice.

Remuneration

n

On offer is a base hourly rate of $36.45-$39.96 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties and allowances (QLD EEN Level 2, Grades 1-6).
