NOW Energy is seeking experienced Data Centre Cablers and Patch Lead Technicians to join an established team working on a major Data Centre project in Artarmon, Sydney.

n

We are specifically looking for people with hands‐on fibre AND copper patching experience, including working with patch panels, patch leads, port/patch schedules, cable routing, labelling and cable management within a Data Centre environment.

n

This is not an entry‐level role. Previous hands‐on Data Centre experience is mandatory.

- Start: ASAP – anticipated 21st September

- Duration: Project requirements are currently ongoing and reviewed as works progress

- Hours: Monday to Friday
n
- Start Time: 7:00am
n
- 8–10 hour days
n
- Rate: $50.00 per hour flat rate

- Tools supplied by the client

About the Role

n

You will be working within an experienced Data Centre team carrying out fibre and copper patching and structured cabling works.

n

We are particularly interested in technicians who can confidently work from patch/port schedules and complete patching within racks accurately and neatly.

n

Duties may include:

n

n
- Fibre and copper patching
n
- Installing and connecting patch leads between patch panels and equipment
n
- Working from patch schedules, port schedules and cabling documentation
n
- Fibre and copper patch panel works
n
- Routing and dressing patch leads within racks
n
- Cable management and maintaining correct bend radius
n
- Fibre and copper cable labelling
n
- Installation of fibre patch panels, MPO/LC cassettes and adapter plates
n
- Running and dressing fibre optic cabling
n
- Panduit structured cabling systems
n
- Fibre terminations where appropriately registered/qualified
n
- Rack preparation and structured cabling installation




n
- QA checks and ensuring patching is completed to the required port/location
n
- Maintaining the high standard of housekeeping and attention to detail required within a Data Centre
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Previous Data Centre experience
n
- Hands‐on fibre AND copper patching experience
n
- Experience with patch panels and patch leads
n
- Strong cable routing, dressing, labelling and cable management skills
n
- Ability to accurately follow patch/port schedules
n
- White Card
n
- Current Police Check – within the last 12 months
n
- Full PPE
n
- Robust attention to detail and ability to work within strict Data Centre QA requirements
n

ACMA Cabling Registration

n

ACMA Open Cabling Registration is highly regarded but is not mandatory for every member of the crew.

n

Candidates carrying out cabling work that requires the appropriate registration, including relevant termination work, will need to hold the required cabling registration.

n

We will also consider experienced Data Centre Patch Lead Technicians without ACMA registration where they can demonstrate strong hands‐on fibre and copper patching experience.
