Job Description

Millennium Dental Mosman is seeking a full-time Dental Technician to support its restorative and prosthetic services and in-house digital workflow. Working from dentists' prescriptions and patient records, the Dental Technician will use digital scans, CAD/CAM systems, CEREC technology and specialised laboratory equipment to design, manufacture, modify and repair accurate, functional and aesthetic dental prostheses and appliances.

Key responsibilities

- Interpret dentists' prescriptions, treatment plans, dental impressions and digital scan data to determine the design and specifications of dental prostheses and appliances.

- Design, manufacture, modify and repair dental prostheses and appliances, including crowns, bridges, inlays, splints, dentures and implant-supported restorations.
n
- Create digital designs and prepare restorations for in-house production using CAD/CAM and CEREC scanning and milling technology.
n
- Prepare models, casts and moulds from dental impressions or digital records, where required.
n
- Select and work with suitable dental materials, including ceramics, acrylics, metals and other restorative materials, to achieve the required functional and aesthetic outcomes.

- Mill, shape, finish, polish and adjust dental restorations and appliances to ensure accurate fit, occlusion, appearance and durability.

- Work closely with dentists and clinical staff to confirm patient-specific requirements, resolve technical issues and support timely treatment delivery.

- Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality, maintain equipment and materials, and keep the technical work area clean, safe and compliant with infection-control and workplace procedures.

About you

n

- Diploma or higher qualification in Dental Technology or a related field.
n
- At least two years of relevant work experience as a Dental Technician.
n
- Strong technical skills in the design, manufacture, finishing and adjustment of dental prostheses and appliances, particularly crowns and bridges.
n
- Sound knowledge of dental materials, laboratory procedures, infection-control practices and quality standards.
n
- Experience using dental laboratory equipment and, where applicable, CAD/CAM systems.
n
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to interpret dental prescriptions and work collaboratively with dental practitioners.
