Brisbane | Casual | Initially approx. 10 hours per week | Significant opportunity for increased hours
Mii Hotel is a growing boutique accommodation business in Brisbane, with further expansion planned.
We are looking for a reliable, organised and warm Guest Experience & Hotel Operations Coordinator to help manage the day-to-day guest experience and property operations across our accommodation in Coopers Plains and Auchenflower.
The role will initially involve approximately 10 hours per week, with regular hours generally 11am–1pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus additional hours as required.
As our accommodation and content/event business grows, there is significant opportunity for the role to increase in hours and responsibility.
THE ROLE
You will be the link between our guests, cleaners, trades and remote administration team, helping ensure everything runs smoothly without requiring constant owner involvement.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing day-to-day guest enquiries and resolving issues professionally
- Making pre-arrival phone calls to upcoming guests to confirm arrival details, parking, access and answer questions
- Monitoring arrivals, departures and property readiness
- Coordinating cleaners and checking that turnovers have been completed correctly
- Following up on cleaning, maintenance, damage, smoking, missing items or other property issues
- Attending our Coopers Plains accommodation when an in-person issue needs to be resolved
- Conducting occasional in-person concierge-style check-ins at our Auchenflower properties, particularly for longer-stay guests
- Explaining building access, parking, rubbish procedures, common-area etiquette and house rules
- Coordinating maintenance contractors and trades when required
- Purchasing and restocking property supplies when necessary
- Recording recurring guest and operational issues and helping us continuously improve our procedures and Hotel Operations Manual
- Working with our PMS, guest messaging and other hotel technology
- Communicating with our administration team and escalating only genuinely important matters
CONTENT CREATION, PHOTOSHOOTS & PRIVATE BOOKINGS
Our properties are also being developed as distinctive spaces for photoshoots, content creation and selected private bookings.
As this side of the business grows, there will be opportunities for additional hours assisting with these bookings.
This may include
- Welcoming photographers, creators, brands and other clients to the property
- Providing access and explaining property rules
- Helping clients understand which areas and facilities may be used
- Being available on-site during selected bookings where required
- Ensuring the property is being used appropriately
- Coordinating access, cleaners or other requirements before and after a booking
- Inspecting the property following the booking and reporting any issues
This part of the role will initially be occasional but is expected to grow over time.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is consistent, dependable and genuinely organised.
You should have
- Excellent spoken and written English
- A warm, confident and professional manner with guests
- Robust attention to detail
- Confidence speaking with guests by phone
- Good judgement and the ability to solve everyday problems independently
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Confidence using technology and learning new systems
- Availability during the regular hours listed above
- Flexibility to take additional hours as the business grows
- A current driver’s licence and reliable car
- Ability to travel between Coopers Plains and Auchenflower
- Australian working rights
Previous experience in hotels, serviced apartments, Airbnb/short-term accommodation, property management, concierge, reception or customer service would be highly regarded.
However, we value reliability, common sense, consistency and willingness to take responsibility just as highly as industry experience.
HOURS & PAY
Casual position
Initially approximately 10 hours per week, with significant potential for increased hours.
Regular hours are expected to be approximately:
Tuesday: 11am–1pm
Wednesday: 11am–1pm
Friday: 11am–1pm
Saturday: 11am–1pm
Sunday: 11am–1pm
Additional hours will arise for guest changeovers, in-person check-ins, property visits, restocking, maintenance coordination and content/photoshoot bookings.
$35–$40 per hour casual super applicable weekend penalty rates, depending on experience.
We are particularly interested in applicants who would be open to increasing their hours in the future as the business expands.
HOW TO APPLY
Please send us a short introduction explaining your relevant experience, current work or study commitments, availability and why this role interests you.
Please also let us know whether you would potentially be interested and available if the role grew from approximately 10 hours per week to 20–30 hours per week in the future.
