The Role

As Sharon AI continues to grow, we're looking for a talented Head of Data and AI to join our leadership team and build our enterprise data and AI capability from the ground up, reporting to our Chief Operating Officer (COO).

This is a senior, enterprise-wide role, but it isn't one for someone who wants to manage a large team or operate at arm's length from the technology: you'll be expected to architect it, build it and make it work. You'll own Sharon AI's data strategy and architecture while personally getting hands-on with data models, integrations, prototypes, agent architectures and production solutions, determining what capability should be automated, provided by platforms and partners, or built by exceptional people. The objective isn't to create a large data function, it's to create a highly leveraged one, working directly with the executive team and leaders across Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, Sales and Operations.

What You'll Be Doing

- Define and evolve Sharon AI's enterprise data strategy and architecture
- Personally design and build critical parts of the initial data foundation
- Create coherent models of customers, contracts, products, services, infrastructure, usage, commercial relationships and competitors
- Make trusted enterprise data safely accessible to people, applications and AI agents
- Develop digital-twin and related modelling approaches where they create meaningful commercial or operational advantage




- Design and deploy agent-based capabilities that automate analytical, knowledge and operational work
- Establish data security, ownership, quality, lineage, provenance, retention and lifecycle controls
- Ensure agent actions and important data transformations are appropriately observable, attributable and auditable
- Design pragmatic controls appropriate to a listed-company environment without importing unnecessary bureaucracy
- Establish secure patterns for connecting Claude and the Anthropic ecosystem with Sharon AI's enterprise systems and data
- Rapidly prototype promising ideas and personally take the most important ones through to production
- Work directly with the executive team and leaders across Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, Sales and Operations

What We're Looking For

- Substantial experience designing and building sophisticated data platforms and architectures
- Deep understanding of data modelling, integration, metadata, lineage, governance and data quality
- Strong software engineering skills and the ability to personally build production-quality solutions
- Practical experience with modern cloud architectures, APIs, event-driven systems and data integration technologies
- Significant practical experience with LLMs, agents, tool use, retrieval and structured enterprise data
- Strong understanding of how data architectures change when AI agents become first-class consumers and actors
- Strong security instincts, particularly around identity, authorisation, sensitive data and agent access
- Excellent judgement about when to build, buy, integrate, automate or simply avoid building something




- Commercial judgement and an ability to connect technical decisions with measurable business outcomes
- Comfort operating with ambiguity, limited resources and very high expectations
- Ability to remain deeply hands-on while operating credibly with executives and the Board

Nice to have:

- Experience with Anthropic Claude, or deep enough agentic-AI experience to become highly effective with the Anthropic stack quickly
- Prior experience in a Head of Data, Chief Data Officer, Principal Architect, Distinguished Engineer or equivalent role
