TAS Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a talented and experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in the Kimberley and Pilbara, Western Australia. This full-time role is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy machinery and equipment used in our mining operations.
This position operates on a FIFO/DIDO roster arrangement.
What you'll be doing
1. Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and other heavy equipment components
2. Performing routine maintenance, including servicing, inspections and repairs
3. Troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems
4. Collaborating with the wider maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective equipment uptime
5. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
6. Maintaining detailed documentation and records of all work performed
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualifications in Automotive Diesel Mechanics or a related field
2. Trade qualification in Automotive Diesel Mechanics or related field is essential
3. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic in the mining or resources industry.
Both surface and underground experience
4. Robust knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical and electronic components
5. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
6. Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
