Working within our logging operation, you will be a key Machine Operator supporting the day-to-day operation of our busy yard.

n

The primary focus of this role is Front-End Loader operation, moving and handling logs throughout the yard and assisting with loading and packing activities.

n

From time to time, you may also be required to assist with other machinery, log handling and general yard operations. An LF Forklift licence and experience operating a forklift would be highly advantageous, as there may be occasions where you are required to assist with forklift operations, including moving larger loads around the yard.

This role would suit someone who is experienced operating a Front-End Loader, mechanically minded, safety-focused and adaptable.

n

Safety is a major priority in this role. You will be operating heavy machinery in a busy yard where drivers, workers and pedestrians may be moving around the site. Strong spatial and situational awareness, along with the ability to operate machinery safely around others, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Operating a Front-End Loader to move and handle logs throughout the yard
n
- Loading and unloading materials as required
n
- Preparing and packing export log containers
n
- Assisting with log handling and movement
n
- Assisting with LF Forklift operations when required
n
- Operating other machinery as required
n
- Moving between different areas of the yard to support operations
n
- Conducting basic machinery checks
n
- Identifying and reporting mechanical issuesAssisting with general yard duties when required
n




- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
n
- Following all site safety procedures and requirements
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who is experienced operating a Front-End Loader, safety-focused, mechanically minded and confident working around heavy machinery.

n

n
- Previous Front-End Loader operating experience - essential
n
- LF Forklift licence and operating experience - highly advantageous, but not essential
n
- Experience operating other types of machinery is advantageous
n
- Excavator experience is highly advantageous
n
- Experience working with logs, timber, forestry, quarry, civil construction, transport or similar environments is advantageous
n
- Strong spatial and situational awareness, particularly when operating machinery around pedestrians and other vehicles
n
- Mechanically minded with a practical, hands-on approach
n
- Confident operating heavy machinery in a busy yard
n
- Adaptable and willing to assist with different tasks when required
n
- Robust safety awareness
n
- Good communication and teamwork skills
n
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
n
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
n
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual duties when required
n
- Available to work 8-10 hour days, Monday to Friday
n
- No weekend work
n
- Paid overtime
