Sales and Customer Service | Indoor Plants Wholesale

Hervey Bay Nurseries grows and supplies quality indoor and patio plants to retail garden centres and Bunnings stores across Australia. Our Enliven brand stands for wellness, sustainability and decor, and customers actively look for our products in store.

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will help continue our sales growth and deliver high customer satisfaction. This is a phone sales role, based in our office and production nursery. There are no face to face sales calls, but your product knowledge, persistence and follow up will make a real difference.

The Role

n

Run weekly phone call cycles with existing and prospective retail garden centres and Bunnings Greenlife teams to grow sales and improve customer service.

Build and use strong in-store relationships to protect and increase prominent shelf space, while monitoring competitor activity and reporting opportunities.

n

Grow your knowledge of plant varieties, categories, industry and market trends, stock availability and consumer demand. Identify opportunities in ranging, ordering and promotions.

Prepare and distribute weekly stock availability lists using current photography, and assist with promotional material and events.

n

Process orders and data accurately, respond to customer enquiries and follow through on freight, delivery and order queries.

Work with Production and Despatch on stocktakes, ready stock checks, product photography and peak-period support.

What You Will Bring

Exceptional customer service and customer-focused selling skills, with a warm and confident phone manner.

Well-developed phone sales and administration skills, including data entry, order processing and accurate follow up.

n

The ability to work calmly under time pressure, manage several activities and communicate clearly in writing and by phone.

n

Reliability, organisation, self-motivation and a genuine drive to achieve sales and service KPIs.

n

Energy, flexibility and resilience in a changing, competitive leisure category where customer needs and stock availability can move quickly.

n

A genuine interest in plants. Indoor plant knowledge is valued, but a robust willingness to learn varieties is equally important.

Experience That Will Help You

n

Experience in Greenlife, FMCG, produce or other perishables is highly beneficial, but not essential. Retail sales, merchandising, shelf management, ordering, horticulture or agricultural experience will also be well regarded, particularly where you understand seasons, crop performance and changing availability.

Hours and Remuneration

n

Weekly hours and remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant and reflect their ability, background, experience and skillset. Most retail plant sales occur on weekends, so the first days of the week can include 6.00am starts to give customers an early opportunity to order before the following weekend. Spring, summer and holiday periods are peak trading times, and annual leave is generally taken during winter.
