Design & Build Recruitment – Sydney Hills District NSW

Our client is a well established custom homebuilder based in the Hills District. Due to an increase in work, they are looking to add an additional person to their Estimating team.

n

The business specialise in high-end custom homes and renovations on projects across Sydney. They have a very robust and well respected reputation in the industry, and we are working exclusively with them on this search.

The Role

n

This is a hands on estimating position suited to someone with solid residential construction estimating experience.

n

You will be involved in pricing projects from plans, completing take-offs, obtaining subcontractor pricing and ensuring estimates are accurate and commercially sound.

n

The role will have exposure across both pre-construction/sales estimating and production estimating, so experience across both areas would be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Prepare accurate estimates and tenders from architectural and construction plans
n
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs and pricing
n
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing
n
- Review plans, specifications and documentation to identify scope and cost requirements
n
- Allow for labour, materials, trades and construction costs
n
- Identify discrepancies, omissions and potential cost risks
n
- Update estimates in line with design changes and revised documentation
n
- Assist with variations and cost changes throughout the project lifecycle
n
- Work closely with internal design, construction and project teams
n
- Ensure estimates are thoroughly checked and accurately reflect project requirements
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone with:

n

n
- Previous residential estimating experience
n
- Experienced using estimating software such as Databuild, Cubit or similar
n
- Experience pricing custom homes, renovations, extensions or similar residential projects
n
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and costs
n
- Good knowledge of take-offs, quantities and subcontractor pricing
n
- High attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction documentation
n
- Experience with estimating/take-off software
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders
n
