As one of Queensland's most engaged and respected tourism membership organisations, Tourism Noosa work collaboratively with operators, Noosa Council, community partners and industry stakeholders to promote Noosa's unique destination offering, while championing sustainable growth and regenerative tourism practices that protect and enhance our world-class natural environment, home to a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve , World Surfing Reserve and Australia’s first Earthcheck Silver Certified Destination.

We're now looking for a Sustainability Specialist to lead our regenerative tourism agenda and help embed "Tourism for Good" across our membership and the broader community.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Industry Development, this is a purpose-driven role at the heart of Tourism Noosa's Destination Strategy. You'll drive engagement and outcomes around regenerative tourism, support members to transition toward eco-certified practices, and help build community confidence in a tourism industry that gives back as much as it takes. This is a part-time contract role, three days per week, running through to 30/06/2027.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the direction of Tourism Noosa's Tread Lightly NOOSA program, CSR initiatives, Precious Plastic Project and Plastic Free Noosa campaigns
- Drive the strategy and rollout of regenerative tourism positioning and messaging, working closely with the Marketing team
- Identify and engage prospective tourism business members to participate in eco-certification and other sustainable development programs




- Support and guide the wider Tourism Noosa team in embedding a whole-of-organisation focus on regenerative tourism
- Build strategic partnerships that deliver outcomes aligned with the Noosa Destination Management Plan and regenerative tourism objectives

About You

- An experienced professional with strong customer service skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Energetic, positive and proactive, with a genuine passion for sustainability and community
- Comfortable managing multiple projects, budgets and deadlines at once
- Minimum 5 years' experience in tourism, sustainability, events, marketing or a similar sector
- Strong local knowledge of the Noosa region
