The Team

Our Paediatric Ward is supported by a dedicated and compassionate team of Hospital Aids who play an essential role in ensuring a safe, clean, welcoming, and family-friendly environment for children and their families. Working alongside nursing, medical, and allied health staff, Hospital Aids contribute significantly to the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward and the overall patient experience.

Hospital Aids are responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, infection prevention, and environmental safety throughout the ward. Their duties include cleaning patient areas, restocking supplies, supporting meal services, transporting equipment, and assisting with general ward requirements. Through their attention to detail and commitment to quality, they help create an workplace where children can receive care safely and comfortably.

Working in a paediatric setting requires a caring and child-friendly approach.

Hospital

Aids regularly interact with children, parents, and carers, providing a warm and welcoming presence while ensuring the ward remains organised, tidy, and responsive to the needs of patients and families.

Our Hospital Aid team works collaboratively with nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, educators, and support staff to ensure the ward functions efficiently and effectively. The team culture is inclusive, supportive, and focused on teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. We value reliability, flexibility, initiative, and a genuine commitment to supporting the care of children and young people.

Details of appointment





- Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 56 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$59,668 to $65,185 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025
